In New York City's emergency rooms, medical care is undertaken by two different but equally important groups. The people who suffer injuries and illness, and David Lee Roth, who saves them. These are their stories.

A great start

The word is spreading in all the right places! We'll do proper justice to it tomorrow. So sorry we've been so busy lately to post.

More DLR fans than you can shake a stick at.

Holla atcha David Lee Roth fans! Based upon the reports we're getting today, we're picking up a lot of new visitors from some of the big DLR boards. So, to the hardcore, welcome and salutations. We hope that you'll keep coming back, because we hope that soon enough, we may here about David's EMT exploits. The life of a first responder is tough, so we hope David has more good days on the job than bad.

In the meantime, we'd love to hear the stories of how the music saved your life, or what you think of David's new career. Hit up the comments. And thanks for coming.

BTW: Many people have referred to me as a "Gothamist contributor". I am a writer for DCist, Gothamist's Washington, DC imprint (many of you no doubt know that Gothamist has metastasized to DC, LA, San Fran, Toronto, Chicago and London). So, while I'm proud to be contributing to the growth and well-being of the Gothamist family and brand, I do not, myself, write for Gothamist. Just wanted to make that clear, because we heart Jen Chung and we want her to heart us.

Many thanks to the folks who have already pointed visitors this way, especially to Jen Chung over at Gothamist, who has done a fellow -Ist blogger a solid (disclosurecakes: I write, from time to time, for Gothamist imprint DCist).

We've also been highlighted at the following sites: llamah.com, New Kids On The Blog, Yokels, Slantpoint, and my man over at [Information Leafblower].

If you linked to us, and we missed you, let us know because you deserve credit.

Welcome!

Hello and welcome to The Night David Lee Roth Saved My Life, the latest venture in The Diner Media Empire.

If you are familiar with our work, you're probably thinking, "Like these guys need to start ANOTHER effing blog." But hold on. We have something different in mind.

As may already know, David Lee Roth, the former (and best) frontman of Van Halen has been in training to become a paramedic in New York City. Naturally, we think this is utterly freaking awesome, and we're stoked by Roth's commitment to learning and plying this trade. He's already saved the life of a heart attack victim in the Bronx. Talk about a new lease on life. Resuscitated by Roth. You could live another fifty years.

What we'd like to do is collect the stories of those of you out there that have found themselves in harm's way, only to have your well-being ensured by the man who was once Crazy From The Heat.

We don't know how along in his training he is, or how successful he'll be. We're taking the chance that there will be no stories to tell, or that those that would offer a testimonial or narrate their adventure under Roth's care will find us and speak. But we have high hopes.

So, if you are out there, and want to tell your story of Rothian derring-do, send an email describing the experience to fabluece@yahoo.com.

Let's see how this goes.
